Work is underway to prepare the site of the South of Fraser Maintenance and Storage Facility (SFMSF) for future construction. This work involves “preloading” – the placement of gravel and sand to improve site conditions by compressing and settling the ground.

The site is located at the southeast corner of Fraser Highway and Highway 15 (176 Street).

The Province and TransLink are currently working to finalize planning for the SFMSF. The preloading work at the site will support the future construction of the facility, and help the project move ahead quickly once planning is complete.

The SFMSF will serve as a necessary SkyTrain vehicle storage and maintenance facility to support the region’s SkyTrain network and growing transportation needs in the region. This will be the first SkyTrain maintenance facility constructed south of the Fraser River making it particularly important to the Surrey Langley SkyTrain extension.
